I can't be late, even if I try. Since my co-op started, I've had a steady routine. Alarm goes off at 7am, I stumble out of bed at 7:15, do my thing and get dressed, grab my lunch from the fridge, and I'm out the door and on the bus by 7:45. I'm a low maintenance girl - as long as there's cream on my face and clothes on my body, I'm good to go.
This past week has been March Break so from 2-5pm, I've been on the floor handing out guide maps, offering suggestions, and answering any questions from the massive amounts of people visiting the Science Centre. (I also got yelled at for doing my job!...but that's a whole other story). Things have been really quiet for me in the office though so my mornings have been spent reading the news, working on crosswords, and researching places to go for my NYC trip (and minimizing windows whenever someone walks by). My supervisor has been away for family medical reasons or Canada Sings rehearsals so I figured there's no harm in getting to work later today. Lots of people arrive at 10am so why do I keep getting to the office at 8:45?
So my alarm once again went off at 7am today and I took my time waking up and getting ready. By 7:42, I was all ready to go. Damn my efficiency! I checked NextBus (one of the best websites ever created!) and saw that the bus was coming in 3 minutes. It's like I've been wired to follow routine because something inside me made me think, "I can't miss that bus!" and I powered my way to the bus stop and made it just in time.
Now I'm sitting at my desk with nothing to do, reading the news, enjoying a cup of coffee and waiting for 2pm to come around. Last day of March Break! Woohoo! It'll be nice having the Science Centre not filled with 8000+ people but it has been great taking the bus in the morning without high school kids around.
Heehee, I have the opposite problem. I can't be early for work.
ReplyDeleteYou're drinking coffee now?? You've become an office-bot :)
